Sailing for Seattle - Monday-Wednesday

Weather looks great on Monday to Wednesday to make the run to Puget Sound. For the trip we have an All-Star Pacific crossing skippers Paddy Barry and Tod Cordil both 2006-2007 Pacific Puddle Jump Veterans and Puget Sound sailor Collin Agnew.

The Plan:
Monday September 6, 2010
Off the dock in Astoria, Oregon by 6:00AM
Cross the Columbia River Bar at the beginning of the flood tide around 7:30AM
Weather Monday...S wind 10 to 20 kt...becoming W 10 to 15 kt in the afternoon. Wind waves 1 to 3 ft. W swell 5 ft at 8 seconds. Rain in the morning...then rain likely in the afternoon.
Weather Monday Night...W wind 10 kt becoming light. Wind waves 1 ft or less. W swell 5 ft at 8 seconds. Scattered showers.
Sail/Motor overnight

Tuesday September 7, 2010
Pass Neah Bay around 4AM
Weather Tuesday...Light wind becoming NW 10 kt in the afternoon. Wind waves 1 ft or less. W swell 6 ft.
Pick up Flood current and ride it down the Straight of Juan De Fuca
Arrive Port Townsend around 3:30PM or possibly much sooner with great weather forecast.
Refuel in Port Townsend as necessary.
Dinner and Overnight in Port Townsend as crew schedules allow

Wednesday September 8, 2010
Off the dock around noon (waiting for tide to turn to flood).

Weather Wednesday...Variable wind to 10 kt. Wind waves 1 ft or less.
Sail / Ride strong flood tied to toward Seattle
Arrive Seattle (Shilshole Bay Marina) around 3;30PM Wednesday September 8, 2010
