Sails for Soil?

September 27, 2016

Sails to Soil... a new farming blog in the works?

Perhaps jumping in the mud with both feet is the natural human response to spending more than 4,000 days sailing the seven seas.

It's not that we don't want to be sailors anymore, we just want more permanence in community and a more grounded sense of belonging.

The San Juan archipelago is deeply satisfying to our sailor souls on so many levels, the islands perfectly pair an unmatched depth of community with transcendent natural beauty and as I love to say 'people make the place'.

We've been getting involved at every level possible, volunteer work at a number of island organizations and attending every possible event to network and meet out neighbors.  We're here to stay and super enthusiastic and excited to be among our people here on San Juan Island.

It would be a shame to let  our amazing voyaging catamarn 'Lightspeed' languish at the dock when she yearns to cross oceans and explore new far away shores.  If you've been thinking about a performance cruising catamaran to take you in speed, style and comfort to far reaching islands, this might be a great opportunity.  We're ready to sell and trade our sails for soil.   More on the boat at www.42atlantic.com
